Kiefer Sutherland stars as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack on the US Capitol during the State of the Union, on the highly anticipated series Designated Survivor. In this dramatic thriller, Kirkman will struggle to keep the country and his own family from falling apart, while navigating the highly-volatile political arena and while leading the search to find who is responsible for the attack.

I was drawn to this series primarily because of Kiefer Sutherland, whose work on 24 was exceptional as well as his work on film! But another unexpected appeal came as I began to watch it and it seemed, quite happily to me, that Kiefer's character embodied many of the finest qualities of President Obama! And now in this most recent episode, Bombshell, it seems that the resemblance between Moss, played by Mr Pierson, and Vice President Biden is not a coincidence! I wish this series much success both for its own merit and for giving the audience a bts look at the truth( rather than the still constant abusive accusations and rhetoric) of the Obamas/ Bidens administration and the great loss if we don't fight to continue their tremendous legacies!
Just saw the first episode, pilot. It is pretty intense. Very dark what with happens and all. It was good enough to where I want to see more. Keifer S is like a very innocent character in this. Out of his normal role type I'd say. Big dramatic action oriented things happen in this first episode. You get introduced to all the characters too. Its a live time show that is it doesn't cut from one day to a week later etc. The only thing I don't like about it is the end of the world doom and gloom kickoff which is how so many movies draw folks in. I just think that a one shot draw technique is kind of....well it wears out fast. The show conveys the urgency of the circumstances but not enough characters....Having said all this I do like it!
