Hello, I recently received a document that was saved in PDF/A mode. Since I did not know what that was, I had to watch a video tutorial explaining what it was. I really like the idea of a method for long-term archival and support Adobe in this cause HOWEVER, I need to save it in the "regular" format please.
29 Oct 2010 Reader 9 says that 16 of them are being viewed in PDF/A mode and the print button doesn't work. Can't remember any .. I will have to ask the Town Board for authorization to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro version 9.4 so that I can do this myself if I come across more forms on the site that need to be fixed.

23 May 2011 Here's how: Open a PDF document. In Acrobat 9 Pro: Choose Advanced> Print Production> PreflightIn Acrobat X Pro: A) Click the Options button to show the Print Production panel if it is not already open. The Preflight window appears. A) Twirl open the PDF/A compliance section.

Do PDF files from Acrobat 8/9/X, that were saved as 1.7 files, lose any properties when they're converted to PDF/A? This is quite possible. PDF/A is based on PDF 1.4. If the PDF file is using features that were first introduced with PDF 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7, these could be lost with the conversion to PDF/A.

I have some PDF/A files that I need to edit (add/remove/reorder pages). If the file is in PDF/A mode all the commands are disabled. Is there a way to. That preference is set the way it is in order to ensure that PDF/A files are processed by Adobe Acrobat/Reader according to the rules of the PDF/A standard.
