The POP instruction reads a byte from the address indirectly referenced by the SP register. The value read is stored at the specified address and the stack pointer is decremented. No flags are affected by this instruction. See Also: PUSH POP direct C AC F0 RS1 RS0 OV P Bytes 2 Cycles 2 Encoding 11010000 direct

sequence_symbol: Is a sequence symbol. PRINT: Instructs the assembler to restore the PRINT status to the status saved by the most recent PUSH instruction. USING: Instructs the assembler to restore the USING status to the status saved by the most recent PUSH instruction. ACONTROL: Instructs the assembler to restore
Opcode, Mnemonic, Description. 8F /0, POP r/m16, Pop top of stack into m16; increment stack pointer. 8F /0, POP r/m32, Pop top of stack into m32; increment stack pointer. 58+ rw, POP r16, Pop top of stack into r16; increment stack pointer. 58+ rd, POP r32 Pop top of stack into r32; increment stack pointer. 1F, POP DS, Pop

To push a value to the stack, the PUSH instruction is used. To pop a value from the stack, the POP instruction is used. Example: Assuming that SS = 1000h and SP = 0xF820. This means that current stack top is the physical address 0x1F820 (this is due to memory segmentation in 8086). The next two machine instructions of
pushing a value (not necessarily stored in a register) means writing it to the stack. popping means restoring whatever is on top of the stack into a register. Those are basic instructions: push 0xdeadbeef ; push a value to the stack pop eax ; eax is now 0xdeadbeef ; swap contents of registers push eax mov
POP - Pop Word off Stack Usage: POP dest Modifies flags: None Transfers word at the current stack top (SS:SP) to the destination then increments SP by two to point to the new stack top. CS is not a valid destination. Clocks Size Operands 808x 286 386 486 Bytes reg16 8 5 4 4 1 reg32 4 - - 4 1 segreg 8 5 7 3 1 mem16
PUSH INSTRUCTION. Note: The contents of the accumulator and the flag register are known as the Program Status Word (PSW). Format: PSW = AF A = content of the accumulator F = content of the flag register Note: Push instructions allow us to save data in a stack. PUSH B where: B = BC PUSH D D = DE PUSH H H = HL
23 Aug 2011 It can also be used to extend the $0-$9 and $R0-$R9 values, by putting their current values on the stack, assign new values to them, doing something with it, and return the old values to the variables. There are three instructions that can be used for interaction with the stack: Pop, Push and Exch.
