even when I try to hide

looking at me with the smile

every time I look at that cracked mirror
all I see is mistakes I’ve made
along the way, that shattered my heart
and destroyed my dreams

nightmares, what remains
from the time that brought joy
now it’s all dark and scary
looking at you now I see myself
sad, lost, shattered, with lost confidence

there’s so many things I can’t handle
my conscience is one of them
through my rise and fall
it’s been my only friend

the one that had to
take care of all the pain within
and put back all the shattered pieces of my heart
so I would have the straight to carry on
through the life god gave me

I’ve heard that love is blind
but some memories I wish
I could forget, to survive the day

full of pain, full of doubt
you’ll see me with a smile on my face
and sadness in my eyes
all cause I’ve learned to laugh
at the pain within
