3 May 2013 For crying out loud, I don't want to write about political BS on my blog but this is just too ridiculous. Here's a news article about a Korean textbook that had pictures of Japanese people in it. OH MY GOD! Somebody needs to go to jail for this!! The kids might think Japanese are like normal people with families
I also used Tae Kim's guide, and thought Korean: a comprehensive grammar was good. Higher level and possibly more succinct; not sure I would recommend it to a beginner. Personally, I used it as just another resource to complement everything else and confirm what I already know from a different angle.

23 Jul 2015 I actually suggest imabi.net over Tae Kim depending on how you want to define "learning the language". Tae Kim is a great introductory guide to Japanese and is something I often hand to beginners. But for anyone who wants to seriously study the language, imabi.net is on an entirely different level.
Wishful thinking is an understatement. Sorry to burst your bubble but tae kim covers the basic grammar only up to the first 2 levels of the JLPT (the old 4? and 3?).
