Set in a near future, technology-reliant society that pits man against killing machines.
Set in a near future, technology-reliant society is creating killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite Marine unit is helicoptered in to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility, to test the capabilities of the latest prototypes. They set up positions and make short work of the AI targets in the killing field. However, overnight their sentry goes missing, and when they find the corpse the next day they find themselves in the killing field and the tables have turned. The Marines fight to survive on an island that is overrun by an enemy intelligence far beyond their predecessors, which learns from their every move.
This is my first time writing a review after using IMDb since 1995 to get all my movie info and think it's time to start writing reviews seeing as Iam a movie maniac and watch all movies good and bad. First this movie I had doubts. Didn't know the actors not sure who the director was. But for the amount of bad movies that have come out for the last decade, this movie is pay dirt. Solid action scenes, great actor (for not knowing any of them), solid story.....low budget yes but hey its really good. People say its predictable.... I didn't think so but everyone can say any movies predictable.
I will be writing more review for folks since a majority of good flicks I have seen helped me watch good ones. I feel like movies now a days are just completely........ I dunno the word but Hollywood's not trying anymore. The last solid film was mad max fury road.
Anywhoo watch this movie if your a military,sci fi, action fan.
When so much money is spent on so little its commendable to see a budget sci fi that puts the big end of town to shame.
Kill Command is, based on its budget, an excellent film. The storyline utilizes a very familiar premise where future military meets sentient technology, with Terminator, style outcomes.
Whats different is the genuine attention to detail.Real military equipment is use and combined with very plausible interpretations of where military technology could go in the not too distant future.
The result is an immersive film, that keeps the viewers attention and holds it. The actual story is pretty basic but its done with such panache, you hardly notice. Better still, the action is well balanced and spaced out throughout the film rather than being squeezed into the last twenty or so minutes.
The directing and acting is pretty solid too. The characterizations feel real and they have a polish I would not have expected for a film with a budget this size.
All in all, one hell of a top notch effort on a shoestring. Hang your head in shame Hollywood, this is how action sci fi should be made. Maybe you could take some notes from these guys. Ten out of ten from me.
