Plum Relish Or Sauce Recipes

Nigel Slater's Hot, Sweet Plum chutney from Ripe is just the thing to round out a few slices of cheddar. Made with plums . More Condiment and Sauce Recipes.
Method. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over a low heat. Add the bay leaves and spices to the pan, fry for 1 minute then stir in the plums. Squeeze the orange juice into a measuring jug and top up to 450ml with cider vinegar. Spoon the chutney into sterilised jars and seal straight away.
In a large saucepan place the plums, apples, onion, garlic and ginger. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil then reduce heat to a gentle boil cooking until the fruit has dissolved and the liquid reduced to a thick sauce (approx. 40-50 mins). Stir regularly. Spoon into hot, sterilised glass jars and seal.
Onion, red plums, and dried cranberries combine to create a decadent condiment perfect for the winter months. Brown sugar, cider vinegar, grated fresh.
