In a land of dragons, citizens called breeders train their dragon pals. Races of dragons are born from breeders who are marked with Seikoku, also known as star brands. Learning to ride and tame dragons comes easy to most students at Ansarivan Dragonar Academy - except for Ash Blake, a first-year student who is known by his classmates as the "problem child." Despite his unusually large star brand that marks him as a future dragon master, his dragon has never appeared. Until now, that is. One day, while challenging fellow student, princess Silvia Lautreamont, to a dragon race, Ash's dragon appears, but in a form different than any dragon ever seen before - a beautiful girl. Ash names her Eco and soon discovers that this new dragon has attitude to spare, as she promptly informs him that she is the master, and he, her servant. Ash's problems with dragon riding have only just begun.
Yeah if you've seen one episode of this show, you probably already know the main comparison it gets. The male lead is a somewhat stubborn headstrong protagonist who allows himself to constantly be abused by his partner (she calls herself master), the pink haired tsundere female lead. Ash (the male lead) was often made fun of for not being as skilled as everyone else and not being able to summon his dragon. When he finally does so he gets a human female, instead of a dragon like everyone else. I think it goes without say that this is noticeably similar to the "Familiar of Zero". If you've seen familiar of zero or any other show like it, you already know the story here. That being said, is the show bad? No, not at all. It'll give you the same feel all the other shows that are like this give. It obviously has its clichés and minor issues. But overall it's well made, just not creative. Also something to note is a series always gets better as it goes on so when/if(and it most likely will) season 2 comes around it will have improved and I am interested to see what happens next. Is it as good as the show it wants to be (familiar of zero)? No. Is it a good show? Yes.
I'll put it this way, if you like shows like shakugan no shana, dragon crisis, or familiar of zero, you'll like this. P.S. My real rating would be a 7.5 out of 10.
LOL.. the story line focus in Ash and Eco, they just use that clichés for a fun for sure lol, this anime have story and sometimes funny moments and some good action moments, this was like the introduction to the story about Avalon and Mordred, the story about the fight vs this 2 lineage, the evil and the good. What the anime first before give your Review.
People, watch this first then chose your opinion about this anime.
I like this anime, is funny have a good story line, don't is boring watch this so.. i already fall asleep watching like.. Naruto, and don't get me wrong, i love Naruto, but sometimes is much story and no action you know.. in this anime you see much action, funny moments story to make you think "why that?" "why this?", and a good fight moment for a little time xD
