Hear me silver sister moon
What does the word soul mate mean to you?
For me, it means warmth, protection, companionship, love and above all, it means forever.
Your warmth gives me security and your love means forever, but how is it that you hide yourself from me?
Come out of the shadows and make me whole, my heart brakes each time I am alone.
Please come and warm me, let me be in your warm arms until I fall asleep, let me dream of a world where you and I are as one.
We walk hand in hand on a forest path where birds sing, you're just a shadow, and I do not know who you are. A rippling stream somewhere in the woods hiding a paradise a paradise so beautiful that all the heavenly beings want to be there, from this paradise I can hear a sound so pure so full of love and companionship.
In the shadow of a great oak a cougar lie and purr beside her sits a boy, his hand resting on her paw. The boy is not afraid he has found his soul mate; your soul mate need not to be human only you can know that it’s the thing that make you complete, and if it’s so you've come right. The boy clapped softly over her muscular back, she spins faster, the boy jumps up on the muscular back and they both run into the oblivion. I’m now back at the beginning cause the place were not mine, the place was theirs and no one else could take it from them. I must continue on the forest path to find my own place, on through the forest I walked with my shadow companion.
The bubbling from the brook continued and the birds sang but as I walked I noticed that the birds stop singing and the beautiful path fills with snow. The moon is high in the sky, a lone wolf howling mournfully at the moon, her heart is crying, broken by the desire for closeness and warmth. She stops howling when I pass. She turns her face towards me and the shadow fades away; it looks me deep into my eyes, even into my soul. While I trudge through the snow, I see a shadow that haunts me is the lone wolf; it sneaks in the shadows too scared to really go with me. I turn around and sit in a squatting position; I get eye contact, her beautiful eyes looking straight into my soul knowing that I mean no harm.
She sneaks up from the shadows, settles down a bit in front of me and creeps slowly forward, she shakes with fear. I reach out my hand and touched her with a soft hand on the side of her head.
She stops shaking and starts pressing closer to my warmth, she was whimpering like a puppy with ears pressed hard back against the neck. I rise up and returned to ripple through the snow; she jumped up as soon she realized that I was going. Her company warmed me, I felt safe and at peace.
We walked all day until the sun went down, as soon as darkness approached; I hit camp and tried to sleep. I closed my eyes and felt warmth beyond belief, I felt so at ease and when I open my eyes I saw the wolf. She had lain down beside me, her calm breathing was so drowsy, I loved that she was lying there and went to sleep along with her breathing.
Sunrise was wonderful; as I lie on the cold ground thinking about the warmth, she gave me. She stretched out her beautiful body and she crooked her head and she looked me deep in my eyes. I asked what she was looking at but got only a little growl in response, I jumped at the surprise, but when she layed down in my lap as to show that she meant well. I clapped over her long dark body, I felt her pleasure to be near me and found myself feeling the same. I whispered that we should continue her ears went up and the tail went in all directions. She jumped up and down while I made myself ready for our long trip, winter it had melted away during the night and the colors of spring had come to life. The forest had been transformed into an open field where deer grazed and wild rabbits running around. The wind was mild and the sun was gassed in the face, she seemed to dismiss the hot sun. I peered out over the field and was looking for a good place to cool us in, my eyes found a beautiful grove near the water. We ran together down and threw us into the cooled water; we swam together for a while and then add us and dry in the shade of a tall tree.
When we sat together and watched the sun go down, I realized one thing. The thing I wandered so far to find is right here beside me, in wolf form. Following this discovery we walked together into the sunset to find a place to live together, a quiet and peaceful place. The same calmness that I feel with her, a warmth and companionship that not even death could destroy. And I call her my soulmate.
