Hazed from a drug overdose and brutally beaten, Sister Sarah will find herself in the middle of a bad trip, mentally abused, enslaved and coerced into prostitution for the evil and sleazy El Chavo's "Los Muertos" biker gang. Right on the brink of demise and totally abandoned by the pious merchants of dope, the left-for-dead Sister will take on a mission to put the fear of God into sinners and to persecute all those who stand against Him. So, without delay, prepared for vengeance while armed with God's tools and a heavy arsenal to do the Lord's work, merciless Sister Sarah will start whacking priests one-by-one in a strictly personal vigilante frenzy. After all, she is the Hand of God amid Holy War, where no one is spared and no prisoners are taken.
B) If you are hoping the same level of entertainment as a Rodriguez/Tarantino film, than this is not it. A) It's not the worst film I've seen, but big screen no-go.
It's some amount of crazy, but not enough to be entertaining. Crazy enough to be "Ewwww... and?", but not enough to go "Ewwww... Ohh!?!?!?!". In essence the film lacks the irony in the story.
This film is of the same genre as Kill Bill, Sin City, Gringhouse and Machete. However, this is one of the worst representatives of that genre. It's most comparable to Machete, but the storyline is not augmented by the irony and there is nothing to hook you onto in the story. The script is dragged out. The story could be presented in a 30 minute film. It's a good story for a depressing documentary, not a action, violence, blood and gore film.
This is not about some clergy members being represented corrupt. This is not about drugs. This is not about violence. It's just a shooter with a lot of vengeance, poor action scenes and a too thin layer of the story sprinkled around.
Upon taking her vows to become a nun, Sister Sarah (Asun Ortega) is abused, brainwashed and drugged into submission by the corrupt clergy.
What purpose does this film serve? None that I can see. Does it have nude nuns? Yes. Does it have big guns? Well, it has guns... and what it does have is an endless amount of rape scenes.
If you like rape revenge films, maybe you would like this. But it is just a cheap "I Spit on Your Grave" knockoff, with unnecessary close shots of a man's buttocks. Even the nun thing has been done before (and better) in the rape-revenge genre: See "Ms. 45" I suppose I should not have expected much after seeing the writer-director's last film, "Run B*tch Run". I guess that aside from shooting gratuitous sexual assault scenes, his artistic vision is stunted.
