Anodized aluminum lid with latches, deep enough to close the case with cables patched in. Retractable feet that can support the case at two different angles. Or lay the case flat on a table. Plastic feet for resting the case on the table. Rubber feet on bottom side of lid so the case can stand vertically with the lid attached.
This bike box was donated to the club by Shane Carbonneau's dad, John Carbonneau. It's a very solid, protective box with hard shell. For larger bikes, or MTB with front shocks, fit may be tight. Do you mean the hard-sided case? I just followed the directions that came with the case when I packed my Trek for a trip to France last summer, and it worked out OK. I had to mess with the handlebars a bit, rotating them around the front fork (I think), but it really wasn't that hard (and, I'm not that
