My car was at the starting line.

I wondered if,
When it was time,
They'd all take off,
In a straight line.
When the green flag dropped.

Would I be first?

I wondered whom I could pass.

The flagger on the stand put out a hand.
I wondered if I'd be on the winner's stand.
