Civil Unrest in the European country of Moldova has US forces engaging the insurgents however there is a new threat who has decided both are their enemy. This new threat resides in an alternative spectrum that makes them invisible to the naked eye and instant death to anyone confronting them. Locals believe they are Spirits of War but others believe they are superior arms technology fabricated by the Moldova government..
A sci-fi/thriller story centered on a special-ops team that is dispatched to fight supernatural beings.
I think this is an enjoyable movie, I found on this a bit of the same feeling I had watching aliens 2 the one with the space marines, a bit of the first predator and the first alien..some a mix between all that, I can find some analogies for the action part in it. Direction is pretty solid if you like call of duty cinematic and other cinematic in the same style, so very adrenaline but working well. Photography works good, visual effects looks great , Weta is always a synonymous of quality. The script / story isn't bad I have to say I would prefer a bit deeper or more on the background story that isn't just action. The cast works for all the marines, not too much for the Badge Dale character a bit a tasteless interpretation, not much deep. I really find nice the armor and the looks of all the movie itself. With a less action and more deep background on both story and character it would be a very nice movie, like it is now it's an enjoyable action sci-fi product.
It was a pretty decent movie, but for me as a Romanian, it was annoying to hear that "Romanian" language spoken that sometimes wasn't Romanian at all. From one word in Romanian they translate it in a phrase in English. And other mistake from my point of view was that they said that the action was in Moldova but the scenes were from Budapest, Hungary and if you know a little bit of geography it's annoying. The FX were quite OK and the plot was decent. The acting was also good. At the end it's like a cliché, that when there the battle is almost lost, than everything changes and the good overcomes the bad ones (this is a part that I like)
