A new assignment forces a top spy to team up with his football hooligan brother.
MI6's top assassin (Mark Strong) has a brother. Unfortunately for him, he's a football hooligan (Sacha Baron Cohen) from the town of Grimsby. Nobby has everything a man from the poor English fishing town of Grimsby could want - 9 children and the most attractive girlfriend in northern England (Rebel Wilson). There's only one thing missing in his life: his little brother, Sebastian. After they were adopted by different families as children, Nobby spent 28 years searching for him. Upon hearing of his location, Nobby sets off to reunite with his brother, unaware that not only is his brother an MI6 agent, but he's just uncovered a plot that puts the world in danger. On the run and wrongfully accused, Sebastian realizes that if he is going to save the world, he will need the help of its biggest idiot.
Review: I really didn't enjoy this film, mainly because the jokes are way over the top and the storyline is completely ridiculous, and I must admit, the elephant scenes really made my stomach turn. I did enjoy watching Mark Strong (Sebastian Graves), play the action hero, with Ian McShane playing the role as the M16 spy boss but as soon as Nobby (Sacha Baron Cohen) came on screen, the movie went downhill fast. The director really pushed the comedy to the limit, which was pretty uncomfortable in places, and the whole fireworks up the bum concept, was a completely ridiculous idea. As soon as I saw that Sacha wrote the movie, I should have known what to expect from his warped sense of humour, so I wasn't that surprised that he was looking more for the shock value than the comedy aspect of the movie. By the end of the film, it did seem like a waste of time and money and the storyline just went from bad to worse. At the end of the day, it's another bad day at the office for Sacha Baron Cohen, who is slowly losing the audience from the Ali G days. Disappointing!

Round-Up: Judging by the lost at the box office, I'm not alone with thinking that this was a total waste of time. The movie was directed by French director, Louis Leterrier, 43, who also brought you the Transporter 1 & 2, Unleashed with Jet Li, the Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans and Now You See Me in 2013, so it wasn't surprising to see some great action scenes, judging by his experience behind the camera. I personally don't think that the action scenes were enough to save this movie, mainly because Nobby is always doing something stupid, which makes the various scenes seem pointless and a complete waste of time. On the plus side, I did chuckle at a couple of the scenes, like when Nobby got addicted to shooting things and when Sebastian was playing the action hero at the beginning but apart from that I really think that Sacha needs to rethink his comedic roles because people are getting a bit fed up with his sense of humour.

I recommend this movie to people who are into their action/adventure/comedies, starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Strong, Rebel Wilson, Ian McShane, Isla Fisher, Penelope Cruise, Gabourey Sidibe, Johnny Vegas and Ricky Tomlinson. 3/10
I would recommend to: Those who love pure unadulterated toilet humor.

This was probably the worst movie I have seen so far this year. No scratch that - in my life. The first 10 minutes or so was relatively funny but then just went downhill - actually free-falling - from there.

We all know that Sacha Baron Cohen can push the limits, but this time he went too far. I have seen comedians running out of good material and then reverting to absolute vulgarity in an attempt to re-enable their dwindling career (not that Sacha's career is dwindling unfortunately, but he is not funny anymore). Unfortunately there are people for whom nothing is sacred anymore and these are the people that will fall for this kind of tripe (I might have one or two members of my family who fall within this category and whom I love dearly but let me be honest - their overall taste in anything is definitely reprehensible).

Pedophilia and kids with HIV can never be seen as funny material. Also the Elephant scene was just disgusting and as a kid from Africa, I find it deplorable to say the least.

Every constant watcher should treat the Brothers Grimsby with the disdain it deserves. If I could give it a zero, I would have.
It may occasionally shock a laugh from you, but between those moments your face will be a rictus of horror.
