The all-female Heroic Trio are Tung (Wonder Woman), Chat (Thief Catcher), a mercenary, and Ching (Invisible Woman). Initially, they're on opposing sides - the invisible Ching is kidnapping newborn male babies for her evil master, Tung is trying to solve the crime (rather more effectively than her policeman husband, who is unaware of her secret identity), and Chat, who was formerly employed by Ching's evil master, is trying to sell her services and inside knowledge to the police. But all three have something in common buried deep in their past...
This is a really bizarre movie, I quite enjoyed it actually for the most part, with fun performances, however it dragged in some places. All the characters are cool, and the story while bizarre, is often compelling, plus Michelle Yeoh is simply amazing in this!. I taped this a while back, as it was on Spike TV, and I must say I am glad I watched it, and it was refreshing to see something so original, plus the fight scenes are especially good. I loved set designs, and the finale is very exciting and creative, plus I was really surprised by how extremely violent it was (a baby gets killed!). Yeoh,Anita Mui and Maggie Cheung made a great trio, and had fantastic chemistry with each other, and Yee Kwan Yan played a very wicked villain, plus it takes a while to get going, but once it does, it never looks back!. The dubbing as expected is pretty bad, however it's bearable, and the fight choreography is good as well, plus it will keep you guessing throughout. This is a really bizarre movie, I quite enjoyed it actually for the most part, with fun performances, however it dragged in some places, still I highly recommend it. The Direction is very good. Johnny To does a very good job here with solid camera work, fantastic visuals, cool angles and keeping the film at a strong pace for the most part. The Acting is excellent!. Michelle Yeoh is amazing as always and is amazing here, she is extremely likable, kicks that ass, as always was intense, is hot, brought her usual charisma, and had great chemistry with both Anita Mui and Maggie Cheung! (Yeoh Rules!!!!). Anita Mui is excellent here, she's very cute, likable, was focused and delivered an engaging show I liked her lots!. Maggie Cheung is beautiful, and also does well, her dubbing voice is somewhat annoying, but she did a great job, and looked awesome!. Damian Lau did good with what he had to do as the Insp. and husband I liked him. Yee Kwan Yan is great as the villain, he looked awesome, and was quite evil. Rest of the cast do fine. Overall I highly recommend it. ***1/2 out of 5
movie, in my mind. I was lucky enough to see this on screen at the New Zealand Incredibly Strange Film Festival in '96. I'm not sure what version it was, but appeared to have been dubbed in an asian language other than chinese and subtitled in not only english, but some other asian language as well. Quite a riot.
