Blood. Such a small and simple name for such a brilliant liquid. This necessary, life-giving substance which no-one can do without covered the knife I held in my hand.
She shouldn’t have told us that.
A single drop dripped from the tip of the knife and slowly fell towards her body.
She shouldn’t have done it.
When her cold skin met the drop the drop splashed, giving her pale skin a touch of red.
Why him?
Her whole dress was covered in it. So beautiful, but so deceiving. Like her eyes.
Why now?
They stared into the void of darkness, with no target except the abyss.
Why?
Hey eyes, her most beautiful feature, were like dead stars in a pond of blood.
Because she didn’t love us.
A pond of blood. Heh. That’s exactly what it looked like.
You hear me? She didn’t love us.
I looked at the knife. It had been so simple, so clear.
She never did.
The knife had cut through bread before – never meat. She had insisted on that.
But now she doesn’t love anybody.
But now things had changed. The knife had cut through meat and her eyes would never shine again.
She can’t.
Never hurt anyone again.
Now she’s ours.
Blood.
Forever.
