Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Since the dawn of existence, there has been an ancient being named En Sabah Nur who is believed by many to be the world's very first mutant. Awakened in 1983 after thousands of years in a deep slumber, he plans to rule the world and wipe out mankind with help from four new recruits (Storm, Psylocke, Angel and Magneto). With the fate of the world in uncertainty, Professor Xavier along with Raven, Hank and old ally Moira McTaggert, must lead a new generation of X-Men to fight the deadliest enemy they've ever faced.

I don't know why people hated this movie so much. In opinion it was really a great movie. But not up-to the level of X-Men Days of Future Past.
First 15-20 min of the movie was about Apocalypse. It was kinda disappointing because I want to know why Apocalypse want to destroy human kind what instead it just show me humans hated him and betrayed him. But after that movie started catch its speed. For me the show steeling moment was Eric's loss. That moment was so powerful and emotional that it could even make a cold hearted person cry. Michale Fassbender acting was just awesome. Action sequences were pretty damn awesome. Like the Days of future past again Peter steel the show. But my fav was the Wolverine berserk mode action scene. Awesomeness of that scene was unspeakable. In that 10-15 min scene Fox fixed all the wrong they did in the X-Men Origin Wolverine movie.
What I didn't like in the movie were Apocalypse, his horsemen character motivation. Well Oscar Isaac did a great job as Apocalypse but what I didn't like was they didn't treat him like Apocalypse. As far I know Apocalypse is one of the most powerful super villain, he can shape shift he can project energy blast, telekinesis and many more powers that makes him a god like being. But Peter beat him like he is nothing. All other horsemen except Eric has no character motivation. I mean why would Psylocke(Body Guard), Angel(Fighter) and Storm(Thief) want to destroy the world.
So basically this movie is not a bad movie which some people claim that it is worse than the Last Stand movie. Bryan Singer did a great job. Great casting of character. In my suggestion if you are a X-Men fan you'll love it.
Review: I was quite a big fan on the last X-Men movie, Days of Future Past, mainly because of the relationship between Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), and the betrayal at the end but this movie seemed a bit messy because there was way to many superheroes introduced at once. Like the previous movie, I loved Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and the slow down action scene, was one of the best part of the movie but there wasn't much depth to the new characters, and I wasn't that impressed with the baddie, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) who just looked like an actor with loads of make-up. The storyline also was a bit poor! It's a basic, goodie vs. baddie concept, with the X-Men joining forces, to kill someone who wants to destroy earth. Apocalypse recruits 4 sidekicks with special powers, to help him destroy earth, so the X-Men are set with a big task to stop the powerful warlord, who can get into people's minds and enhance there powers. Although the movie looked epic and some of the visual effects were pretty impressive, I didn't think that the final showdown lived up to its expectations and you don't get to see the various superheroes, push there abilities to the limit. The great thing about the last movie is that you get to see the various characters learn how to control there powers but in this film you only get an in depth look into Cyclops (Scott Summers), who wasn't that great. I also didn't really see the point of Moira Mactaggert (Rose Byrne), who just seemed in the way most of the time, and no one seemed to acknowledge what Quicksilver done to save there life's. Anyway, I did enjoy some elements of this movie and it definitely was huge, in terms of scale but I still was expecting more of a witty script, like the original movie, and better action scenes. Watchable!
Round-Up: This movie was directed by Bryan Singer, 51, who first hit the scene with the critically acclaimed Usual Suspects, in 1993. After the disappointing Apt Pupil in 1998, he returned with the first X-Men movie in 2000, followed by the sequel in 2003. He then directed Superman Returns in 2006 and the Tom Cruise war movie Valkyrie in 2008 and then he released Jack the Giant Slayer in 2013. After the popular X-Men: Days of Future Past, he took a couple of years out before releasing this film. To prove that he was fully committed to this franchise, he turned down the opportunity to direct Alien: Resurrection and he didn't direct X-Men: The Last Stand because he was directing Superman Returns, which didn't go down to well with audiences. If he decides to return as the director for another X-Men movie, he really needs to cut down the amount of new characters to introduce, so the audience can connect and feel some sort of emotion to the ones that are already available. Apart from that, this movie was a decent watch, and there are some epic scenes which were put together well, so I'm looking forward to see how these characters progress in the supernatural world of the X-Men.
Budget: $178million Worldwide Gross: $544million
I recommend this movie to people who are into their action/adventure/sci-fi's, starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, Hugh Jackman, Josh Helman, Sophie Turner and Ben Hardy. 6/10
Apocalypse feels like a confused, kitchen-sink mess with a half dozen too many characters, a villain who amounts to a big blue nothing, and a narrative that’s so choppy and poorly cut together that it feels like you’re watching a flipbook instead of a movie.
One can say both. X-Men: Apocalypse is a reboot as it takes place in a reset timeline due to the events of the previous film X-Men: Days of Future Past. The timeline goes back to the origins of the mutants with younger versions of the X-Men. It is also a sequel due to taking place after the main events in Days of Future Past, which took place in the 1970s and most of the cast of First Class and Days of Future Past have returned. No. Shortly before the film movie was released, Bryan Singer announced that X-Men: Apocalypse and the then-upcoming third Wolverine film (Hugh Jackman's last role as Wolverine) would be the final chapters of his X-Men film franchise. However, the studio had a number of other films planned. Among them, It is rumoured that one is or would be titled "X-Force". It is uncertain if the film will be canon and will be apart of the cinematic X-Men universe. Though rumour has it the film after the next will be set in the 1990s, with the current cast. So, perhaps Bryan Singer will step down as director if the series continues. Yes, there is. He does indeed lose his hair near the end of the film, so the film's poster is truthful in a sense even if slightly misleading. Excluding ones that came out after Apocalypse, there are nine: X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverwine (2009), X: First Class (2011), The Wolverine (2013), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Deadpool (2016) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). a5c7b9f00b
