I have Adobe Reader on a couple of Windows 8.x computers. Just in case, as a “backup", I'd like to install a free, open source, PDF reader that can highlight text. Adobe Reader works well and highlights text. SumatraPDF works well, but does not highlight text. LibreOffice Draw cannot open PDFs

3 Dec 2014 try the prerelease builds www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease.html you can use the portable version select some text press the "h" key, save the highlight press "ctrl+S" note this is a beta feature it works quite well, but there is no way to remove the highlight so it's better to set the option to save
13 Nov 2012 It's not as fast as SumatraPDF and I'm not sure I would recommend it as your main PDF viewer, but it does offers a number of features that you usually have to pay for in other programs. 16 Apr 2017 16 Apr 2017. sumatra is light weight and easy on my old laptop ,I have to install foxit reader because I have lot of pdf to read and highlight important information but sumatra doesn't have that feature, for other jobs sumatra is easily my favorite PDF reader and program too.
