Showtek first released the single Save the Day, which saw itself put on a huge number of compilation CDs, which gave the duo a step up above the rest very early on in their career. They then released Controller, which also proved itself to be immensely popular. By this time, it was pretty clear Showtek wasn’t going to go away any time soon, and they had pretty much stapled their name to hardstyle genre, and as such, began gaining traction in the Netherlands.
Soon enough, they were picked up by a record label, ID&T. This is nothing to sneeze at, as ID&T are the folks behind all the massively well-loved Q-Dance events, such as Qlimax, Defqon 1 and Q-Base. In doing this, ID&T secured Showtek to play exclusively at all of the Q-Dance events, which was sure to (and does) please the crowds.
In 2005, ID&T stopped functioning as it did before, and Be Yourself Music was founded by the old employees of the label. Showtek founded their own label, know as Dutch Master Works, a sub-label of Rytmic, a label in which a number of other popular artists have played under at some stage of their career. Under the Dutch Master Works label, Showtek have pushed out roughly 20 releases, the majority on 12″, all of which have been featured on a large number of compilations, and played numerous times at popular dance festivals.
When together, they are Showtek, but both of the brothers also have solo projects. Sjeord produces music under the name of DJ Duro, and Dirk-Jan DJ, with music produced under the Duro alias mainly hardstyle, and Dirk-Jan DJ produces mainly hardcore.
Wouter produces music under the hugely creative name Walt Jenssen, but also Dutch Masters, Lowriders, Masters of Mayhem and Southstylerz, all of which are hardstyle.
Showtek remain extremely popular, and they are booked for all the large dance parties, all the while regularly producing wildly original music, sure to entertain the masses for a lengthy amount of time in the future.
