They learn that the brilliant inventor Dr. Edward Bailey might know where the weapon is. They discover that Bailey has been interned in an asylum in London by the MI-6 for thirty-two years and the British Victoria joins the team. They rescue Bailey and find that the nuclear device is hidden in the Kremlin. Soon the dangerous South Korean Han joins the group expecting to retrieve the weapon. But dangerous killer Jack Horton is hunting Frank down and will not stop until he recovers the nuclear bomb.Let me start by saying that I love this film so much.

I was lucky enough to catch this one in theaters with a buddy, unlike the first, which I only got to see on DVD, which I now own both.

Frank and his team must stop a shadowy conspiracy from finding and using Night-Shade,

with the help of a wacky ex agent,

who is the inventor of the mysterious weapon.

Overall, a great action-comedy with a good cast and a well written story, and I think a Superior follow up to the original.

I give it a 7.4/10. More action, more laughs, more thrills. It's a real good time, I highly recommend it.then this movie is for you. It's one of those fun movies with unbelievable characters. Frank's back and this time accused along with Marvin of being a terrorist. This all dates back to a job they had in Russia years ago. It seems a nuclear weapon went AWALL and now the real terrorists want to find it. The CIA and contract killers are after them.

Most of the film is just filled with silliness and jokes. And too many product placements. The pringles and papa john's were cringe worthy. I hate it when movies advertise because I'm watching a movie so I don't have to watch commercials. One of the craziest scenes was Han spinning the blue Ferrari and Victoria shooting the bad guys from both sides. Also Katja spins a black porche, skips to the passenger side, and Frank jumps in and rides away. Let's not forget the crashing the helicopter and everyone is OK. How crazy.

FINAL VERDICT: makes for a fun popcorn flickA sequel that has some snappy interplay, typically courtesy of Malkovich, but mostly feels like a cast working to manufacture what came naturally the first time.Ex-black ops CIA agents Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) , now considered RED (Retired, Extremely Dangerous), reunite with retired MI6 sharpshooter Victoria Winsler (Helen Mirren) to track down Nightshade, a portable nuclear weapon smuggled in pieces and hidden in the Russian Kremlin by physicist Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins), whom MI6 has kept incarcerated in a London asylum for the past 32 years. Aided by Frank's girlfriend Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker) and Russian secret agent Katja Petrocovich (Catherine Zeta-Jones), the five attempt to retrieve the Nightshade device while dodging South Korean contract killer Han Cho Bai (Byung-Hun Lee) and Pentagon agent Jack Horton (Neal McDonough). RED 2 is the sequel to RED (2010) (2010), which is based on a comic book written by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Cully Hamner. The screenplay for RED 2 was written by screenwriter brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber. Marvin fires the AK at general area of the helicopter (notice that he doesn't really aim down the sights, he isn't trying to shoot it down or damage it) so it would retreat and get outside the explosion radius. He's making them run away so they survive the incoming explosion. Carrying the activated Nightshade bomb, Frank boards the plane where Bailey is holding Sarah hostage. Bailey releases Sarah but orders Frank to get off the plane and take the bomb with him. Frank complies and joins Marvin, Victoria, and Han on the tarmac. As Bailey's plane takes off, they await the explosion of the bomb. With only four seconds left, Bailey discovers that the bomb has been hidden on his plane, and the plane goes up in a massive explosion. Frank reveals the empty bomb casing, indicating that he planted the bomb on the plane sometime before he faced Bailey. Incensed at losing his plane, Han says that Frank owes him $30 million for the plane and $20 million for not killing him. While walking away with Sarah, Frank replies, "All right".
