A bounty hunter named Atticus Gage tracks down criminals in a post-apocalyptic Earth.
Watchable, giving the plots partly similar to both Clint Eastwood's "Unforgiven" and "Pale Rider" with a bit of Mad Maxish's enemy wasteland cars. Though none of the editing scene to scene were irritating throughout. The actors are average but not imposing enough with the exception of Gina's acting, she is certainly suited for more kick-ass heroine roles in movieland.
There are of course lots of post-apocalyptic movies out there and the question is if we needed another one. Well we didn't but to rate this movie low because of that reason is not fair imho. I like ms. Carano although she's not an actress by nature, you cannot say she does not try her best. There are a lot of movies and series which are a lot worse, Dc's Legends for example that is rated higher than this movie and in which the acting is abominable. So, is this movie worth watching? On a cold and rainy day it is. And for ms. Carano: you're worth a lot more movies higher on the ladder, Haywire-like.
Equal parts 1960s-style Spaghetti Western pastiche and ’80s-style “Mad Max" knockoff, Scorched Earth is the sort of divertingly hokey post-apocalyptic B-movie that would have amused undiscriminating Blockbuster Video renters a generation ago, and now might pass muster as the pilot for a weekly SyFy series.
