28 Feb 2017 I cannot seem to open up pdf files anymore, or at least when I try, a gray background comes up and not the actual file I tried to turn of I can only view by going to file manager and finding downloaded files. +1. Someone on this thread finally found a fix. In Chrome, go to Preferences > Show Advanced Settings, and under "System", uncheck the box that says "Use hardware acceleration when available". Restart Chrome to apply this setting. PDFs are loading correctly for me again.

To report the issue, at the top right, click More Help Report an issue. Add details to help us fix the issue faster. You can normally open PDFs automatically in Chrome by clicking on the file you want to see. If your PDFs are downloading instead of opening automatically in Chrome, Chrome PDF viewer could be turned off.
17 Aug 2017 Just open Plugin page by entering about:plugins in Google search box and hitting Enter. Then you can disable the PDF viewer in the open page.
