After the Halo event of 2552, there is a brief but violent period of civil war among the humans. Two armies on opposite sides of a canyon, the Reds and Blues, fight in the most worthless piece of real estate in the galaxy.
In the near future, ten soldiers battle for control of the most worthless spot in the galaxy - a box canyon in the middle of nowhere. Red Vs Blue documents the story of these two armies as they wage a war they really don't understand - or want to fight in the first place.
First, I have to say, not only am I addicted, but every last person who has seen this web-cartoon/DVD has fallen in love with it.
My husband played Halo, as well as my step-father. They thought using the game engine to create a show, with loveable characters, coherent story-line, and hilarious plot was ingenious. I have to say that I love this series with a passion. I am tired and bored with the internet, and with movies. (Owning over 1,000 DVDs, and 1,500 VHS) Although an avid collector of cinema, I have to say I proudly state this is the 'jewel' of my collection.
I would recommend it to anyone. The demographic they hit is awesome. Gamers, military, web-cartoon enthusiasts, etc. Kudos to the staff at RvB for making such a wonderful series.
I have been watching the RvB series since it began, and there is no other one like it. The cast has a firm grip on voice acting, script writing, and overall directing.
Whether you like or dislike video games, this series is sure to put a smile on people's faces. It does contain a fair amount of swearing, and violence, but done in a comical way.
By taking a FPS (first person shooter) the creators of the show have taken Bungie's mega X-box hit Halo, and Halo 2, and made a popular internet series called Red vs. Blue.
The plot is simple. Two elite teams of Spartans (the future's version of advanced soldiers) are placed in an abandoned wasteland called Blood Gulch. One team is red, the other is blue. They have no idea why they are there, or even why they are fighting for control of the canyon. What they do know is that the other team must be destroyed so victory may be theirs.
The RvB Seasons 1-3 get a 10 out of 10.
