If you want to open a PDF document only for reading, without having to wait for all the plug-ins to load, or having to move the plug-in files, you can temporarily disable the plug-ins in Acrobat. Press the Shift key while double-clicking the PDF file you want to open.
Upon double clicking the 1st PDF on the mapped network drive on the remote site the PDF opens up in about 15 seconds which is about the time it takes to transfer the 1st PDF over the VPN. The 2nd PDF which is the same size will take upwards of a minute to 1:30 seconds to open at the remote site.
