Bruce Greenwood stars as documentary photographer Thomas Veil who, in the course of one evening, seemingly has his whole existence erased, in the compelling one-hour drama Nowhere Man. It appears as if some mysterious and powerful entity has coerced Veil's family and friends into cooperating in a clandestine plan to annul every trace of him. Veil is all alone with no option but to begin a desperate, dangerous quest to find out how and why this has happened and most importantly, who is behind this torturous scheme.
Back in 1996 this series aired in Australia late at night and it was one of the best series which i greatly enjoyed watching. Later on there were no re-runs of the show and I really wanted to watch the episodes again, so its great that the DVD came out which i will be certainly buying. When I heard this TV show got cancelled on the end of season1 I could not believe it, this should of definitely kept on going into season2. I would love to see Bruce Greenwood come back or something into a Season2 of the show though even if it has been 10yrs ago! Overall a top TV series with mystery, suspense, and surprises. Highly Recommended!
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, and the fate of this show is a great example of one of the reasons why. The cable line is choking on sitcoms that aren't funny and commercials that are more intelligently written and directed than the shows during which they air. This is one of the best shows ever made: completely original, well acted directed and written, and no one who watched it knew what the hell was going on till the very end. Someone should be in prison for not throwing this series a lifeline. Put it on a different network, a new time slot, more commercials, ANYTHING. They could have done anything to try and save this gem, but they'd rather go for the easy buck with one show after another all created using the same, safe, talentless formula. Sprinkle today's TV with enough commercials and no one will notice how bad these shows suck. Do yourself a favor and buy the Nowhere Man DVD in late December. Shut off the TV and watch these episodes every night, and I guarantee your IQ will stop plummeting.
