Ignore the fan-kids who were hoping for a continuation of the failed two season show of a decade ago. This cartoon is a comedy and has grown into one of the funniest original shows on Cartoon Network. It's flat out hilarious.
The characters are obviously caricatures of their former version, with personalities made broad for for comedy. No not everyone is going to get the joke, as you can plainly see on this forum, but those who give it a chance with an open mind will find themselves enjoying it more than they expected.
Overall, not every joke works and some episodes are a bit on the too-silly side, but fortunately the jokes hit way more often than they miss and some episodes are among the funniest on kid's TV. Even parents will find it entertaining.
I've watched both shows... they're fundamentally different. If you expect this show to be like the original, then, of course, you will hate it. The characters may have the same names, but it's a different show and they're different people. Almost every poor review I have seen from this show has more to do with comparing it to the original Teen Titans than this show itself.
