Get your parent or carer to fill in our online form and a volunteer in your local area will get back to you. As you progress through Guides you'll have a chance to lead small groups and support younger girls to have fun and make friends. You and the girls in your group will decide together what to do in your meetings.
When a girl or volunteer join us, they become part of a local unit - a group of girls lead by an adult volunteer.
They are parents, friends, supporters and members who support the ideals and aspirations of guiding and work to help their local unit, District, Division or other area. They form a group which is known as 'Friends of Guiding in (name of town)'. Every District and/or Division is encouraged to have a Friends of Guiding group.
Be aware that Guiding is very popular and some groups have waiting lists. This is especially true for Rainbows and Brownies. Therefore it is a good idea to express an interest in joining early. This will give you an idea of whether or not you will need to join a waiting list. There is normally more than one pack in a local area
Whether you're a Rainbow or just the right age to be, you'll find heaps to make and do. Explore and enjoy!
For girls aged five to seven - Rainbows is exciting, messy, friendly and a lot of fun! Rainbows is for all girls aged five to seven (four in Northern Ireland) Find your local Rainbow unit and register your daughter so she can join them.
Brownies go for it! Girls in Brownies are part of a small group called a Six, lead by a girl called a Sixer. They make their own decisions about what badges and activities to do next. They work together to explore their place within their local community and the world around them.
Girls and young women in guiding do unforgettable things.
Girlguiding events, adventures and regular meetings empower girls to be their best and become confident women.
Choose the right venue and meeting time for the girls in your area when you open a new unit. Ask your commissioner about where other groups meet, so you can be close to or share venues with them, but bear in mind that cheaper or more suitable venues may be available too. What timings work for other local units.
