Wick full custody, not a notorized letter, and we were never asked to see it. Cuba will not be the problem, Canada will be. Years ago, when we were applying for her passport, her biological mother had to sign a portion of the paperwork as well, so, in essence, isnt that "giving permission". But with the judgment in hand, it should not be a problem. By continuing, you consent to our cookies. The judgment that gives the mom full custody should be enough to satifie the Canadian autorities. We had the consent letter from her mother and the separation agreement with us. Funny that the last time I travelled with her I was only asked at the ticket counter when leaving Canada and not when we re-entered. Best to be prepared, then no worries. I am sure we could get a letter from the childs lawyer if that would help. Other than that, I have never been asked anything by Cuban authorities. I have misplaced her birth certificate and a new one will not be here in time for departure but I'm assuming that because she has a Canadian Passport this won't be neccessary anyways. Yet the new price structure that will take place takes this into account and offers a reduction in price for the child's rate. I'll be prepared this time around to pull out the single parent travelling with child to cuba when we return to Canada. Canada is part of the International agreement aganst child abduction, so they have to check how ever is coming in with a child. Cuban autorities do not ask anything when a child travel without one of its parents. You don't need a letter of autorisation from the other parent if you have full and complete custody. When I travelled as a single parent with underage children I had a note from the children's father giving me permission to take the children to Cuba. I have travelled 7 times with alone my son, and all 7 times I was asked for documentation upon returning to Canada. We encourage you to highlight any special requests at the time of booking to ensure that all your needs are fully accomodated.
