What are the advantages of snake guides versus single foot? . With two foot guides (snakes) I find the double security much more durable. I only use REC Recoil guides for runners on my personal rods - both S/F and
22 Feb 2006 Single foot guides only have one wrap, so the main difference is that you can keep the weight The upside, is they will shoot line nicer than the double foot snake guides. If so, the it was using RECCoil titanium guides.
Double Foot - posted in General Rod Building: Thought I would bring up this debate. I was told when building my rod to go single foot guides because it doesn't stiffen the rod as much. I use REC single foot recoil guides.
10 Apr 2012 I'm open to persuasion, but I've never noticed that single-foot guides give me that you mean stripping guides such as the REC Recoil double-foot stripping guides. Snake vs single foot has been a discussion for a while.
Most rods come with snake guides but I know some have single foot. Aside from I've never had any problem with a double foot guide. That is only true with REC brand "recoil" guides and not by any other single foot guide.
