19 Jan 2014 I have a look around the web every now and again to see if anyone has found "features" in cameras I own. Features are a software term - something that happens, is useful and may not be what was intended. Focus peaking allows manual focusing without using a magnified view. That is normally needed

8 Nov 2012 I also have the camera set to AF-S + M. When I adjust the manual focus ring on the lens does the camera "forget" the previous autofocus (half-button press) when you fully press the shutter or does it re-focus automatically? All this while, OM-D user like me suffered in silence; avoiding using our manual focus lenses because you really have to strain your eye to get an accurate Olympus OMD EM5 Focus peaking already here !

3 Jun 2012 Works seamlessly with the GF1 or G3 that I have, but so far, I've not figured out how with the OMD. This has been suggested now a couple times so maybe I have something wrong with my camera, but it doesn't work with any of the half a dozen lenses I've tried and the various combinations of MF/magnify
Help me out here. I have not seen a OMD in the flesh as yet and I would like to know how it handles the magnified view when it comes to manual focus. I have used the Panasonic G2 and the Olympus E-P2 in manual focus mode previously. I much prefer the way Panasonic handles the magnification mode
8 Apr 2014 That can be turned off in Menu > Custom Menu > AF/MF > MF Assist (> Magnify) > Off. In E-M5 the path is one step shorter, because in E-M1 and E-M10 there is another choice at the end of the path: focus peaking (as Tony mentioned above). You can still have manual magnification via the Multi Function

15 Jan 2015 manual focus using peaking. obtain approximate focus by rotating the lens manual focus ring. hold down Fn1 button (activates Keyline effect) while optionally half-pressing shutter (activates IS) adjust focus until sharp black lines appear on your subject. you can now either:
