After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things brewing in New York City. Tech-industrialist tycoon Max Winters revives four ancient stone warriors and enlists the help of the foot clan to help capture ancient monsters.
After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles are needed more than ever, but Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo have become lost and direction less. Leonardo has gone to Central America, on the orders of the martial arts master and father figure Master Splinter, for training. Donatello and Michelangelo have started small businesses in Leonardo's absence. Meanwhile, strange things are happening in New York City. An army of ancient creatures threatens to take over the world and the Turtles must unite again to save it.
After seeing this movie's low critic ratings, I was dubious about watching it. No more than five minutes into the movie, I knew that it would not be a waste of time. The soundtrack, sound effects, and general graphics made the movie an amazing experience. The fight sequences were beautifully orchestrated and fast-paced. The quips and humorous situations were balanced out with dark backdrops.
As a fan of the TMNT franchise, I found this movie very enjoyable and will probably watch it multiple times in the coming years. It isn't a movie for those who want to start into the TMNT storyline; the TV shows are the place to start. But this movie doesn't assume that all viewers know everything about TMNT, which makes it great for those who have no background in the storyline.
old school fan will like? no... a die hard old school will say it sucks. Why reboot instead of making a sequel... wasted... Yeap... the turtles have grown up so much, and so mature... and so muscular... wow... but a freaking reboot, the same old stinky story? Been watching TMNT cartoons and certainly, this reboot can do way better than just a reboot. I don't know what happen to people nowadays, just reboot, reboot and more reboot...
Movie itself. it's OK, standard stuff expected. Still rating it a 1/10 or 0/10 if available, since the story is nothing new... same shyt, different shape... enjoice...
The upshot is that the film is technically superb and quite enjoyable as long as you don't bang your head against the plot.
