I've bought a PSP 1000 after ages without one. However, It's kinda banged up. So I'm gonna buy a new housing for it. Can anyone give me a step by step tutorial with pictures or a video link(preferred) on how to do it? This is my first time doing it so yeah I'm a noob in any hardware related mods. Thanks I'm
Oct 18, 2009 To repair your PSP 1000, use our service manual. Step 1 PSP 1000 Teardown. Start by removing the three screws highlighted by the red circles. Tools used on this step: Open the UMD slot. Now don't get all gung-ho, be careful when detaching the LCD, as it's attached with two connectors.

No experience with a total housing replacement, but I did replace the faceplate on my 1000. 5 screws to take the old one off, 2 on the thumb stick, and move all the buttons over. Air canister to keep dirt off of the screen. Took me less than 15min. I used YouTube to guide me. Good luck. permalink; embed

Not for the faint of heart. The fit was a little tight around the USB port so I had to gentley file it down. The guide from the manufacturer was good enough. The housing is very flimsy untill you put the psp inside it, Then it becomes rigid. Would recommend if you aren't afraid of the disassembly / reassembly process. Look it up on

Step 1 Battery. Step 1 Battery. Locate the battery casing button on the rear-left side of the PSP. Using your finger, remove the battery upwards from the system as shown. Step 4 Front Casing. Remove the screw from the bottom side of the PSP. Gently separate the outer plastic casing from the rest of the system as shown.
