May 28, 2008 Or is there a better way to wash it? and I mean the fabric camelbak and not the resevoir.thx! I feel in the interest of scientific discovery I will test to see how long it takes for salt to destroy my $25 Performance branded "Monsoon" backpack, which is roughly the same size/capacity of a Camelback Mule.
A CamelBak has removable pack components that require cleaning: the water reservoir (also called a bladder), plastic hydration tube and mouth piece, and a durable Instructions. Difficulty: Easy. Step 1. Take the water reservoir out of the CamelBak pack. Rinse both the outside and inside of the bladder with a tiny drop of
If it's really filthy and needs a deeper cleaning, here's what to do: Soak it in warm or cool water with some mild soap. Rinse it thoroughly with cool water (skip this step, and you might end up creating some suds the next time you sweat with your pack on). Hang it up to air dry.

Use hot water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach. Mix the solution inside your reservoir and hold it up above your head while you pinch the bite valve, allowing the bleached water to run through the tube. You can also use CamelBak Cleaning Tabs. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit for about 30 minutes.
May 18, 2007 I have never cleaned the body of my Camelbak. It needs it bad. It has salt (from sweat), grease, dirt and blood on it. I looked on the Camelbak for washing instructions, but did not find any. Is it safe to throw these in the washer? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Jeremie.
