Anonymous asked: I really like the breed and they seem to be good dogs, but are Czechoslovakian wolfdogs alright for a first-time owner?
Some people say being a first-time owner is actually an advantage with wolfdogs. the reason is you’re not ‘spoiled’ by the epxerience with normal dogs, and so you don’t expect them to act like a shepherd or a collie, which would be a disadvantage to you both. a wolfdog owner should be very flexible and patient. there was a twelve year old kid who’d win working dog competitions with his czechoslovakian wolfdog, because he’d spent a lot of time learning from the dog and modifying the training, as opposed to people who vigorously follow the instructor in the dog training school who uses the same principles with a corgi, a pointer and a wolfdog….which is not very bright :)
