5 Oct 2012 I'm just guessing here, but the background daemon might be running as different user, which does not have permission to access the display.
I daliy login to solaris and linux machines via putty ssh with X11 forwarding turned on to display solaris and Xlib: No protocol specified. Posted on 2008-10-24.
17 Aug 2010 If not, check the latest revision for X11 is installed. If this does not work, This can also be specified on a per-host basis in a configuration file.
