Adjust Torquemaster® or Extension spring(s), if door lifts by itself (hard to pull down) or if door is difficult to lift (easy to pull down). DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust Torsion Springs yourself. To adjust Torquemaster® or Extension spring(s), refer to your installation instructions and owner's manual.

If you just finished installing a new garage door along with an idrive® opener, then proceed with these instructions beginning with Step 14 on page 21. If you were referred to these instructions as part of a new door installation, then proceed with these instructions beginning with Step 1 on page 7. for TORQUEMASTER®/.
If you have the newer TorqueMaster Plus winder system, you will need to unwind the spring with a 5/8" deep well socket. Pull down on the winding shaft, push down on the pawl, and then raise the ratchet wrench almost to the header and release the pawl. Repeat the process until the spring unwinds.

The right hand end bracket will have a drive gear, counter gear, counter assembly, and a winding bolt head. The left hand end bracket will have no gears, counter assembly, or
owners manual. When instructed to slide the center bracket/bushing onto the torque tube, replace that step with the follow- ing instructions below, which will provide the steps necessary to install the TorqueMaster™ system, as well as the preliminary installation steps for the idrive™ garage door opener.
