27 Dec 2015 Sound cards are AC coupled so you will need to bypass the caps at least to see below 10Hz. Of course these things ca be done and there a few tutorials and projects online available to make a sound card oscilloscope but you are very limited in what they can be used for. For your repair I a not sure t would
22 Apr 2009 I would like to build a protection for a sound card oscilloscope. Here Oscilloscope for the Soundcard they say that the inline max voltage is 0,7V I found a circuit that do this limitation but this one said it is limiting the voltage to 12V : Buffer Hardware for xoscope. Honestly It is more likely to be the 0,7V than the

24 Jan 2011 I downloaded and installed "xoscope" from the Ubuntu repository but found that it is hard-coded to use /dev/dsp for access to the sound card. Ubunto 10.10 does not have /dev/dsp available for use by this legacy application. Is there some sort of work-around for legacy applications which expect /dev/dsp to

29 Oct 2010 That's right, an oscilloscope that is free. And costs no money either. Almost as cool a Frits'o'scope. Xoscope is a piece of software that runs on Linux. Windows users, google "winscope", not the same software though. It listens to the sound card and analyses it as if it were an oscilloscope (o-scope for short).
I installed xoscope and it seems to work sort of. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has actually got it to work. Is there any difference.
Learning About xoscope. Here are my notes about learning to use xoscope a "digital oscilloscope for Linux". My initial success was to capture the "clock" and "ping" traces seen on my Learning About Skannerz Racerz page. I constructed a single-channel "probe" from a stereo plug audio cable connected to two alligator
24 Mar 2011 Show All 7 Items. You may want to build this input probe from the first diagram. nte01.nteinc.com/nte/NTExRefSemiProd.nsf/$$Search is a good place to go to get equivalent part numbers. Also included are other probes that are not as system safe. xoscope.sourceforge.net/hardware/hardware.
29 Sep 2010 Just build the special probing cable as instructed hereunder (this easy do-it-yourself project should take less than one hour), install the free Xoscope . nice tutorial! how about max input voltage? can I use it as a multimeter? or shall I remain under 0,5V (typical max voltage of sound cards? thank you alberto.
