Use the hex key to put the pulley onto the motor. Put the motor and the motor holder together using M3x10 screws. Use the M8x30, 2x M8 washer and the nylon lock M8 nut to hold the 608 bearing into the Y axis idler. Mount both pieces on the M20x22cm threaded rods. Prusa I3 Build manual – v1.0
Edit: thanks, everyone. I think I'll stick with the Mendel Prusa that I linked for now; it looks like there's not all that much that we would gain from the MendelMax for first-time builders to justify the cost. So I was debating on self sourcing a MM1.5+, in particular one based off of the Theo Deyle build manual .

Build Difficulty Prusa i3 is definitely a winner for this. I probably spent around 3 - 4 hours building 3D Printer Czar's model. MendelMax 2 took me a lot more time .. Could you point me to the instructions you followed? the czar emailed me an instruction and he said they are posting it on reprap wiki soon.

I've basically narrowed my choices down to the two in the title. There's a significant difference in price and wait time (MendelMax2.0 loses on both counts), so I ask you- is it worth paying/waiting for the MendelMax2.0 or will the Prusa i3 perform similarly? Build volume is not a concern, I will be doing mostly
