7 Mar 2011 Has anyone ever seen a 5 or 6 speed manual trans put into a 3.0 6 cylinder Outback? I've been wanting to pick up a 3.0 but I don't like manual transmissions much. I'm sure it would bolt up and the rear diffs could be swapped but I don't know how it would handle the extra torque and the ECU changes.
12 Jun 2003 However, the H6 puts out some pretty poor power for a 3.0L and still requires premium gas, you'd be much better off doing a 2.0 turbo swap and beefing it up (or an STi's 2.5). If you could only connect the thing to a 5 speed or even the 6 Sti it would fly (add Twin-Turbo and well you know the rest. . . )
