I did some test shooting with different picture profiles (mainly flat) with my SONY NEX - EA50 which uses HDTV codec. When I shot 2 shots of every picture profile (one uncompressed, one HDTV) to be honest, I wasnt expecting miracles but i knew that i should pull better colorgrade out of the 10 bit footage. Way better than 10bit 4:2:2. :-) While the SDI output is higher than the internal ProRes recording you would still have to record it onto something like an Atomos Samurai.
