29 Nov 2014 The 28-70 f:2.6 AF was Angenieux's last consumer oriented zoom, that was targeted towards the pro market. The lens was just as good optically as any other pro zoom lens of the time either by Nikon or Canon. Unfortunately, its price was also on par with the best of the competition, which made it a tough
8 Nov 2009 Later on when Angenieux pulled out of the SLR market, Tokina managed to get usage rights to the Angenieux design and produce the AT-X PRO AF . My Pro I - probably made for the Japanese market because it's labeled 2.8 only - focus is at infinity when twisting to the right - it reads 28 70 on the barrel;
5 Mar 2010 More about the Tokina AT-X Pro saga can be found in a page published in November by John Cazolis in his blog Nikon Glass. John explores the different versions of Tokina's 28-70 zoom, and tests extensively the AT-X Pro 28-70mm f:2.6-2.8, which is considered the closest to the original Angenieux design
22 Jul 2014 Ok, I am reviewing a lens that I would call it a cult classic that many have totally forgotten in recent years - Tokina AT-X 270 Pro f/2.6-2.8 (Yes!!! f/2.6!!!!) Like Angenieux licensed design – Tokina AT-X Pro 28-70mm f2.6-2.8 In fact, I got everything, from the box, manual to that nice presentation case!!!
As promised, here are some quick test grabs from my new. Tokina AT-X-Pro 28-70mm F2.6-2.8 (Angenieux design) - did I mention that I love that lens? The way you can let the light leak in, is amazing. The 28-70 f:2.6 AF was Angenieux's last consumer oriented zoom, that was targeted towards the pro market. The lens was
24 Dec 2006 They sold the design of the 28-70 2.6-2.8 to Tokina which made a better lens out of it since the Angenieux was mechanically challenged (it had a tendency to lose little parts as you used They still brought out new lenses, a manual focus 35-70mm f/2.5-3.3 zoom and later a autofocus 28-70mm f/2.6 zoom.
12 Nov 2017 The Tokina 28-70 AT-X PRO is a lens that I owned around 10 years ago and I sold it when I bought a Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 AF lens. pointed that Tokina actually made the Angenieux 24-70 f/2.6 AF for the French company until its license expired enabling Tokina to use and modify the design for their
negative: Heavier than the Minolta Beercan (I do not mind at all to carry such a legendary ANGENIEUX DESIGN in my hands at last, for such a small price!) *NOTE: On my Sony A700, this rather rare TOKINA AT-X 270 PRO "1" AF 28-70 F2.6-2.8 has quickly become my all-time favourite Alpha-mount lens as an enthusiast
8 Jun 2012 first up this is for the tokina at-x pro 28-70 f2.6-2.8 that is able to take the bayonet lens hood. the lens is covered by a longed 'shade' than what the lens hood is able to cover when its on the 70mm. essentially, flare is much better blocked out with this kind of design. is full time manual focus available?
7 Sep 2010 Tokina's 28-70/80 f2.8 lenses have quite a bit of a convoluted history to them. Originally developed by French company Angenieux, Tokina bought the design and rolled out several versions before ceasing production in the mid 2000s. For the forthcoming review, I will be referring to the 28-70 f2.6-2.8
