A group of martial arts warriors have only six days to save the Earth from an extra-dimensional invasion before the Elder Lords, the evil Outworlders wreak hell on Earth. Which is led by the mighty Shao Kahn, their gruesome goal is humanity's complete and utter extinction. But Earth's last and only hope is the mighty martial arts warrior Liu Kang and his ferocious friend fighters. They're all that stand between life and...annihilation!
Shao Khan, the Emperor of the Outworld, has illegally opened the portal between that realm and Earth. If it remains open, on the seventh day, all of mankind shall be destroyed. Now the Lightning God Rayden and four mortals - Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Princess Kitana and Jax, have 6 days to find a way to close this portal and save the Earth, battling the evil forces of the Outworld as they proceed.
O the things that are wrong with this movie.it would be better if i listed them.
1.)now i may have bad eyes, but i coulda SWORE that wasn't lambart playing the second time
2.)why the hell did they kill off the (arguably)best character in the first one within the first 10 minutes of the move???
3.)now i know Shao Kan is some sort of a demi-god, bending the rules, breakin the law. I respect that. But how can a bunch of Omnipotent and ALL-KNOWING GODS not notice he was cheating??????
4.)Charater introductions flat out sucked. If you didn't play the game you wouldn't know who the hell they were.
5.)The purpose to the animal things were...????
6.)All the actors were different, making the sequal just plain dull and unconnective. 7.)^^^*****SPOILER*****^^^Situation: Man fights big minatour like dude with machine arms that shoot rockets, and can bend metal and so forth. Beats the hell outta the minatour with no avail. Takes off enhancements, rendering him not powerful, and normal, and kicks his a**e like no other. minatour--*plop* Am I the only one here that thinks there is something wrong with this???
8.)Godzilla vs. pile-'o-crap monster would been better than the final battle.
And the list goes on. Please, in the name of heaven, no rent no buy no see, unless, of course, you like washing your eyes out with alcohol.
I don't think there's actually a single word to describe "MK: Annihilation", so I'll write a few dozen.
A big Mortal Kombat fan, I was really excited going into this film, especially after the first movie, which was decent by any standard (and bloody marvellous by mine). From the very beginning, you can tell you're in for something special. "Annihilation" is right there next to the classic "Star Crash". Boon and Tobias had the opportunity to really make a real mark, and they did: a big brown one on the underwear of film.
With its CGI, plot and dialogue for which polite adjectives don't exist, MK2 is a movie to be missed. Admittedly, I had high expectations, but this film is an insult, a travesty and a BIG disappointment all in one neat Hollywood package.
The movie is nothing more than a perpetual chain of elaborately choreographed (by returning star Robin Shou) fight sequences that mix live-action foregrounds with complexly layered digital effects and are linked together by the most flimsy and laughable of plot elements.
