tutorial is focused on 3D, but some litle diversion to 2D would not take too much space of main theme. I think that the text is very helpful even for 2D games. I think that if you add information how to set projection matrix and get it to work with camera, you could rename the book just "Game Development with LWJGL 3" .

I recently re-started my LWJGL Tutorial Series using the upcoming LWJGL version 3. This is the best tutorial series on beginning LWJGL OpenGL that I have found. I haven't read all of it yet, but I think it'll help with common practices in 3d use of Open GL, which should be relatively easy to adapt to 2d.
