2 Nov 2013 08 cobalt wont move in any gear - Answered by a verified Chevy Mechanic. manual transmission clutch seems to be working can move shifter into any gear and let clutch out no movement in any gear. Customer reply Either one of these problems require the transmission to be removed for repairs.

21 Oct 2010 I have a 2010 Chevy Cobalt I bought back in may this year. It's an LS with a 5 speed manual transmission and the regular 2.4L engine (I think that's it). Anyways it worked fine for about 7,000 miles. Then I couldn't shift into 5th gear. It would pop back out and grind the gears as soon as you let up the clutch.
