This decoder has recently replaced the 36-554 decoder, and is documented by Bachmann as being a re-badged Soundtraxx MC2 decoder. The documentation on their web-site describes it as an MC2 and goes on to explain how to set CVs 2, 5 and 6 for speed control. The information sheet in the box says
