To fix the problem permanently, replace the wiper arm (available at an auto parts store). All wiper arms fit onto a splined shaft (Photo 1). Some are held in place with a nut. To replace that type, just lift the protective cap, remove the nut and pull off the arm (Photo 2).
May 12, 2017 Remove the old wiper. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield and depress the small tab on the underside of the wiper where it meets the wiper arm. When the tab is depressed, slide the wiper blade off the arm by pulling downward. Attach the new wiper blade.
Lift the wiper arm off of the windshield. c. To remove the old wiper blades from a J-hook arm, depress the button tab on the connection adapter clip and pull the wiper blade out of the open end of the “J" on the end of the wiper arm until free.
