19 Nov 2013 I've owned a manual 2002 Ford Focus ZX5 for 5 years. I bought it with 77,000 miles and it now has 112,400. I've been pretty good at having the oil changes and tune-ups at the right mileage. This last time I took it to a new service place, they suggested I looked into changing the Manual Transmission Fluid.

I was talking to a mechanic today who said in a manual ford you never need it changed unless you do tranny work, and one I talked to a few weeks ago said get it changed at 30k. Advice needed on changing gearbox oil (manual) on stated car. somewhere like halfords should be able to tell you what you need and supply it.i don't think you use synthetic oil in a gearbox and surely not atf. if they've got a service centre there they might be Ford Focus 1.6 (Zetec) Petrol 1998-2005
