As for a girl's name, I much prefer Leighton as a first name to simply "Lee," even if it is spelled Please stay away from the fad of naming baby girls Leighton. This is probably why I assumed Leigh was pronounced as Lay instead of Lee.
I like the way this name looks on paper, but can't decide if it's I have always pronounced it Lay-ton, though I think it does LOOK like it Jennifer - mommy to Brandon (11-9-07) & Caleb (7-25-10) * Baby GIRL due 6-27-12 *.

4 Nov 2011 I always read it Lee-ton, but maybe I'm wrong. It's just that Leigh is pronounced Lee, so it makes sense to me that Leighton would be Lee-ton.
posted in Baby Names: Like Lleyton (Lay-ton as in Hewitt) or Lee-ton because Leigh I knew a Leighton IRL, and it was pronounced Lay-ton.
