Eyes of blue, succulent and doleful
Droplets of blood, falling to the ground
Yet the beast's heart, is hopeful
The dark coat, fading into the night
The beast is gazing, not making a sound

Lonely it sits in the ebony light
Waiting, longing to be found

It has been beaten, yet puts up no fight
Patiently, silently, lying on the cold ground
Eyes of blue, succulent and doleful
The deep wounds are not of pretty sight
Letting the warm liquid drip, not making a sound
Yet the beast's heart, is hopeful
A single teardrop glimmers in the night
The creature knows it will never be found
