Post by: RJ2 on July 24, 2013, 10:59:24 AM. since your going to do a clutch type der you will need some sort of chain retention, you have a few options: you can just run a top guide like a paul, mrp, or e-13 and no bash guard, . An XX1 specific chain would not require that treatment.
but for those of you unsure if the greatly added security of an MRP chainguide would benefit you, we've put together this list of folks who really need guides.
I'm currently run a 1x10 setup with a E13 chain guide. Do i really need it. If you run without a guide you are guaranteed to drop the chain
